New Year’s Resolution: Thrive Against Quality Opponents

The Duke Blue Devils have one of the best scorers in the country, and his name isn’t Grayson Allen. While Allen may be dominating the collegiate ranks, it’s teammate Brandon Ingram who possesses the most significant NBA potential.

There have been a number of underwhelming outings, but when Ingram has been on his game, he’s been unstoppable.

Ingram is a 6’9.5″ and 196-pound small forward with a 7’3″ wingspan and deep 3-point range. That combination of size, length, and shooting ability, as well as his skinny frame, has resulted in premature Kevin Durant comparisons.

The bad news for Ingram is that he posted duds against the Kentucky Wildcats, Georgetown Hoyas, VCU Rams and, to some extent, the Indiana Hoosiers. The good news is that he’s scored at least 23 points in five of his past seven games.

Ingram’s New Year’s Resolution is to prove that he can score against physical defenders and length that rivals his own.
