New Year’s Resolution: Please Shoot Better

Jamal Murray isn’t the only Kentucky Wildcats point guard garnering attention in NBA Draft circles. He’s been forgotten by many due to the depth of Kentucky’s backcourt, but Isaiah Briscoe may be the best floor general on the roster.

Only time will tell, but in the meantime, Briscoe has earned his spot at No. 22.

Briscoe’s ball-handling and court vision rate amongst the best in the country. He can make something out of nothing in the half court, trusts his teammates to make plays, and has ideal size for a player who will operate the pick-and-roll in the NBA.

Both in the half court and transition, Briscoe is a difficult player to stop when attacking the basket. When forced to shoot with any measure of range, however, the 19-year-old has been atrocious.

It’s tough to stomach a point guard shooting 21.1 percent from 3-point range and 38.6 percent at the free throw line, but that’s what Briscoe—a star-caliber prospect aside from the shooting—is doing.

Next: Curry or Fredette?
