2016 NBA Rookie Ladder: Has Kristaps Porzingis Hit A Wall?
10. Frank Kaminsky, Charlotte Hornets
It hasn’t been a good week for Kaminsky shooting the basketball.
Kaminsky’s 31.3 percent on field goals over his last five games worries me a bit, but it’s out the door as soon as I look at the kinds of shots he’s taken.
He doesn’t waste scoring opportunities and works hard for the looks he gets. Whether that’s running the floor, playing off the pick-and-roll or moving off the ball for a perimeter shot Kaminsky does more than call for the ball off a post-up.
Elite athleticism isn’t a part of Kaminsky’s game, so his 40.4 percent shooting on the year doesn’t surprise me at all given that he’s a big man getting used to the style and physicality of the professional game.
Raw numbers never tell the story for a young NBA talent. Kaminsky knows how to play the game of basketball at a high level so his slump will come to an end at some point.
