Happy New Year! Welcome to the first 2016 edition of Hoops Habit’s DraftKings strategy guide. Saturday marks the first day of the new calendar year of a full slate of games. There are 11 in total, which means 22 of the 30 NBA teams are in action.

Golden State Warriors‘ point guard and reigning MVP Stephen Curry has been sitting out with a bruise to his left lower leg. He is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, according to Yahoo Sports’ Marc Stein.

Curry will not be included in these rankings because of his questionable return on Saturday night. If he does end up playing, he may be a good option to plug into a lineup.

Some of the best plays from Western Conference teams will likely come from the top four teams. The Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and the Warriors are all 7-3 or better in their last 10 games.

As for the Eastern Conference, there are many teams that have been playing around .500 basketball in their last 10 games. Nine of the 15 teams in the East have a record of 4-6, 5-5 or 6-4. Additionally, no team has won more than two games in a row or lost more than two in a row.

Of the 11 games, eight of them feature intra-conference match ups. The other three games feature intriguing cross-conference contests, including a clash of young talent in a game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks. The Charlotte Hornets will play host to a strong Thunder team.

The final cross-conference contest is between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Clippers.

Without further ado, here are your DraftKings best picks for Jan. 2.
