New Year’s Resolution: Get Well Soon

Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe has been one of the Top 20 players in the NBA in 2015-16. He was well on his way to his first career All-Star Game appearance and was finally escaping the shadows of players such as Goran Dragic, Chris Paul, and John Wall.

Unfortunately, Bledsoe will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

The word you’re looking for is, “Heartbreaking.”

According to Basketball-Reference.com, Bledsoe is one of four players averaging 20.0 points and 6.0 assists on 45.0 percent shooting or better from the field in 2015-16. The others: Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.

Bledsoe is one of two players averaging at least 20.0 points and 6.0 assists on shooting marks of at least 45.0 percent from the field and 35.0 percent from three-point range, per Basketball-Reference.com. The other is Curry.

Not only is that rare company, but it’s a sign of how close the 26-year-old is—not was—to true NBA stardom.
