Ride The Momentum

With the rest of the West in disarray, the Dallas Mavericks have quietly amassed a top-five conference record simply by being passable.

So what should the goal be for this group of overachievers? Ride the momentum and keep winning games, because if the West ever wakes up, that playoff field is going to get pretty thick again.

For the time being, the Mavs are five games ahead of the Utah Jazz, who sit in the eighth and final playoff spot out West. If the Mavs can keep chugging along at their current pace, they may defy the odds and prove once and for all that Rick Carlisle is actually a warlock.
