NBA: 10 Players Failing To Live Up To Expectations In 2015-16
5. Monta Ellis
In Monta Ellis‘ defense, it appears that he’s finally starting to find his rhythm with his new team, averaging 23.0 points per game on 54.2 percent shooting over his last three contests. But a three-game sample size doesn’t quite overshadow his underwhelming first two months with the Indiana Pacers.
So far this season, Monta has not come close to having it all, averaging 13.1 points, 4.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game on 43.4 percent shooting from the floor and 30 percent shooting from three-point range. He has the fourth highest plus/minus on the team, but the Pacers would certainly benefit from him finding his shooting touch.
Indiana has gotten off to a great start here in 2015-16, but they’ve mostly been carried by the superhuman play of Paul George. Now that PG-13’s numbers are coming back down to earth, Monta’s recent uptick in production would be a welcome change for the Pacers.
