7. The Entire Los Angeles Clippers Bench

We could write a whole essay on this one, but let’s just stick with the three marquee additions from the summer: Josh Smith, Lance Stephenson and Paul Pierce. For Pierce, the sad Truth is that he looks completely washed up. Maybe they’re saving him for the playoffs, but he’s only giving the Los Angeles Clippers 4.7 points per game on 33.8 percent shooting right now.

As for J-Smoove, he’s pretty much in Doc Rivers‘ doghouse right now. Smith has played a grand total of 11 minutes over the last five games, including three DNP-CDs and even in the game where he started for the injured Blake Griffin, he only played five minutes. His 39 percent shooting certainly isn’t begging for more playing time.

As for Born Ready, he’s been a complete non-threat on the offensive end, putting up a goose egg in 12 of his 30 games so far this season, including eight in 14 December games. Stephenson’s minutes are trailing off into nothing, leaving the Clippers staring at three meaningless acquisitions that were supposed to help turn things around for one of the NBA’s worst bench units.
