3. Goran Dragic

Make that two current Suns and one former Sun on this list. It was only two seasons ago that Goran Dragic earned Third Team All-NBA honors and the league’s Most Improved Player of the Year Award. Now, after earning a five-year, $90 million extension this summer, the Dragon has had his wings clipped as the biggest piece the Miami Heat still need to properly integrate.

Dwyane Wade is the greatest player in this franchise’s history, and he’s having a fine season at age 33. But his need for the ball in his hand has robbed Miami of being able to fully utilize a very good playmaker. Dragic standing in the corner is exactly what caused his frustration and eventual departure from Phoenix, if you recall.

At this point, with Dragic averaging 11.6 points and 5.2 assists per game on an underwhelming 44.9 percent shooting from the floor and 27.7 percent from three-point range, the only way this deal won’t look like a bust is if the Dragon is able to soar again once Wade’s time to hang up his jersey arrives — a day that not a single person is eagerly awaiting, by the way.
