Top Four SGs

  1. DeMar DeRozan (Raptors) – $7,600 vs. Wizards
  2. Monta Ellis (Pacers) – $5,700 @ Bulls
  3. Rodney Hood (Jazz) – $5,000 @ Timberwolves
  4. Terrence Ross (Raptors) – $4,100 vs. Wizards

Rationale:

  • Due to a lack of previous success for shooting guards against teams they’ve previously faced this season, the shooting guards list is scarce. However, there are several good plays as cheap options.
  • DeRozan is averaging 40.5 FPPG over his last 10 games. Riding the hot hand may be the best play at shooting guard, despite DeRozan scoring 25.3 fantasy points in his previous meeting with the Wizards who are second-worst against shooting guards.
  • Ellis is also catching fire, as he’s scoring 37.4 FPPG over his last three games. Though he’s going up against Jimmy Butler, he has been good defensively and has also had strong assist and rebound outputs, helping fantasy owners.
  • Hood is averaging 24.0 FPPG over his last five games, which is 2.4 FPPG better than his season average. Earning starter’s minutes, Hood should provide good value and allow you to spend big on more confident positions.
  • Ross has only started one of his last five games, but he is earning starter’s minutes. He’s averaging 25.7 FPPG over that span, much better than his 10.8 FPPG season average. He could also give lineups added value elsewhere with money saved at the shooting guard position.
