5. Bill Russell and Bob Cousy, Boston Celtics

Bill Russell won multiple championships for the Boston Celtics with just about everybody he played more than one year with, but Bob Cousy proved a catalyst that helped him lead the Celtics to six NBA championships in the seven years they shared the famous parquet floor together at the Boston Garden.

The one season the Russell and Cousy Celtics didn’t win a title, they still made it to the NBA Finals before falling to the St. Louis Hawks.

Between 1956 and 1963, the Celtics boasted a regular season record of 379-151, which was good for a tremendous winning percentage of 71.5 percent.

While they were together, Cousy averaged 17.7 points, 7.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game, while the inimitable Bill Russell averaged a typically stupendous box score line of 17.1 points and 23.1 rebounds per game.
