20. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics

The union of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce revitalized Boston Celtics basketball, making the franchise relevant again and leading them to the 2007-08 NBA championship.

When Garnett was acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves in a blockbuster trade on July 31, 2007, he joined Pierce in helping lead the Celtics in a historic turnaround. The Celtics had a 24-58 record in 2006-07, and had an incredible 42-game improvement in 2007-08, recording a 66-16 record and earning an NBA Finals victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Celtics went 273-121 in the four seasons of the Garnett and Pierce era, good for an astounding winning percentage of 69.2 percent.

They never won another championship as a duo, falling to Kobe Bryant and his Lakers when the two teams rematched in the 2009-10 Finals, but in the historic basketball city of Boston, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce will always be revered.
