49. Dave Bing and Bob Lanier, Detroit Pistons

Before Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer and Dennis Rodman, Chauncey Billups and Ben Wallce, Dave Bing and Bob Lanier were the original Big Two for the Detroit Pistons. Bing and Lanier were never able to lead the Pistons to the promised land, only making the playoffs in two of the four years they played together in Detroit, and posting a record of just 203-207, but they were the first pairing of stars that the franchise had seen.

They also almost bridged the gap of the dark days of Pistons history with the sterling times of head coach Chuck Daly, Isiah Thomas and the Bad Boys, as Lanier moved on to play with the Milwaukee Bucks just two years before Thomas was drafted.

While they played together, Lanier averaged 22.3 points and 12.5 rebounds, while Bing averaged 21.9 points and 6.8 assists.
