Golden State Warriors

A Real Challenge

Last year the Golden State Warriors became only the third team in NBA history to win 83 games between the regular season and playoffs, they posted a historic point differential and they dominated pretty much every statistical category you could think of en route to a championship…and yet, they STILL got called “lucky” because they didn’t face the Spurs or Clippers in the playoffs.

This year, with the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers all looking like possible title contenders, the Dubs should have no problem squaring off with as many of those teams as possible in order to prove themselves as the real deal.

The Warriors have the best record in NBA history heading into Christmas at 27-1, and they could be within reach of the Chicago Bulls’ all-time best mark of 72-10 (in addition to a bunch of other records). But regular season success, as we saw last year, means little without another dominant postseason run. Bring some rum for that egg nog, Santa. We want to see some dogfights.
