9. Rajon Rondo and Demarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings

Following a frustrating 46 game stint with the Dallas Mavericks after being traded from Boston, Rondo did not have many suitors during free agency this past offseason. However, the Sacramento Kings were willing to take a chance on the former All-Star and signed him to a one-year, $9.5 million deal.

This gamble has paid off marvelously for the Kings despite Rondo’s recent issues, and Rondo appears to be playing like his old self again. He is a triple-double threat almost every night and excels at getting Cousins the ball in a position to score, which is something Cousins has never had in his time in Sacramento.

Pairing a top-10 talent in Cousins with an elite passer in playmaker like Rondo has been a great fit and the players have gotten along great, which has been challenging for both of them at times in the past.

Although both of these players are enjoying individual success working together, the Kings are still a sub-.500 team in the Western Conference and likely will not be in the playoff picture come April.
