Top Four Centers

  1. Dwight Howard, Houston Rockets ($7,700) vs. Charlotte Hornets
  2. Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs ($6,200) vs. Indiana Pacers
  3. Joakim Noah, Chicago Bulls ($5,300) vs. Brooklyn Nets (tired team)
  4. Marcin Gortat, Washington Wizards ($6,600) vs. Sacramento Kings (tired team)

Rationale:

  • The Hornets are in the lower third vs. opposing centers over their past 10 games and D-12 is averaging 39.7 FPPG over his last two contests.
  • The Pacers are fourth worst overall against pivots over their past 10 games and Duncan averaged 16.0 PPG in two games vs. Indiana last season as opposed to 13.9 PPG overall.
  • Noah inherits a favorable scenario similar to what Gasol will enjoy among the power forwards, but since “Sticks” now comes off the bench his ceiling can be limited by inconsistent playing time.
  • Gortat draws a difficult matchup with DeMarcus Cousins, but hopefully the fatigue factor will buoy his chances to return value, something he has done literally every other game over the past six contests, so maybe he’s due again. It’s a fluky stat but there’s a steep drop after Noah and I had to get creative.
