Buy: Andre Iguodala Is Still A Star

It’s no secret that the Golden State Warriors are a team with a whole host of exceptionally talented players. Stephen Curry is the league’s best player. It’s hard to find a better three-and-D guy than Klay Thompson, while Draymond Green is a once-in-a-generation freakish talent.

They’re the kind of sentiments that NBA fans have been hearing on a daily basis for the best parts of 12 months now, but there’s one man who often gets overlooked.

More from NBA

Andre Iguodala is a former All-Star, he has won gold medals with USA Basketball at a World Championship and an Olympic Games, and has consistently been one of the league’s most elite, lockdown defenders.

What the whole world has learned about Iggy over the past 18 months is perhaps the most important detail of all though. The 31-year-old is among the most selfless players in the association.

In Golden State, Iguodala happily comes off the bench when everybody’s healthy, and then when he needs to step up and start, he’ll fill that void too. Per 36 minutes, Iguodala is averaging 10 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.9 steals, while shooting just under 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep.

Iguodala understands the quality of the cast around him, and he’s been smart enough to adjust his role, but make no mistake, if he needed to be a star, he still has it in him.
