Los Angeles Clippers: Jango Fett

Okay, so I know I just compared Danny Granger to Jango Fett, but work with me here, there are only so many major characters in Star Wars canon to choose from. As a Western Conference contender over the last few years, the Los Angeles Clippers certainly deserved the respect of being compared to a cool character, at least.

That being said, it was obvious that like the Rockets, the Clippers definitely needed to be villains. Their constant whining, flopping and off-court smack talk has easily made them one of the least likable teams in the NBA, even if Blake Griffin and their offense is quite fun to watch. So why Jango Fett?

Well, the father of Boba had built quite a reputation as one of the more feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, but his time in the spotlight was short-lived. Despite a couple of entertaining fight scenes in Episode II, Jango lasted for exactly three quarters of a movie before GETTING HIS F**KING HEAD CHOPPED OFF.

It feels like the Clippers are approaching the end of their title window before they meet the proverbial hilt of Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber as well. The Clippers do some pretty cool things, but do they have the substance to actually break through and do something special? Or will we look back on their demise and say, “Damn, that was over fast”?
