Honorable Mention: Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors

The fact that the Golden State Warriors are 23-0 is impressive for a vast number of reasons. No. 1 on the list is the fact that Klay Thompson really hadn’t played all that well until the past five games.

Over the past five outings, the 25-year-old has returned to his All-NBA ways.

Thompson has scored at least 20 points in five consecutive outings. He dropped 26 in the Warriors’ shootout with the Toronto Raptors while simultaneously locking down All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan on defense.

The reason Thompson appears on this list, however, is his 39-point eruption against the Indiana Pacers.

Thompson’s 39 points were complemented by 10 3-point field goals, seven rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes. He was forced to leave the game with an ankle injury, but not before his mark was made.

Thompson has been somewhat underwhelming in 2015-16, but over his past five games, he’s averaging 25.4 points on an obscene slash line of .506/.519/.923—a heavy influence on his impressive season statistics.
