2016 NBA Rookie Ladder: Porzingis And Towns Duel For No. 1
10. T.J. McConnell, Philadelphia 76ers
McConnell’s been as steady of a point guard as they come.
His 7.0 points and 6.0 assists per game are solid numbers for a rookie guard tasked with running a dreadful team like the 76ers.
He’s shown his ability to pass the ball and get others involved while shooting 49.3 percent from the floor and rarely turning the ball over.
I would like to see McConnell be a little more aggressive from the three-point line (only 31 threes attempted this season) and drawing fouls (five free throws attempted) because most of his baskets come off floaters and hard two-point shots, but you can’t argue with his efficiency at this point in the season.
He still seems to have a grip on the starting job, but his luck may run out with Tony Wroten back in the rotation.
