Third Quarter:

This is when the disaster started.

Khris Middleton’s hot shooting touch abandoned him and he struggled mightily. He played the entire third quarter, but only scored three points and was a team-low -18. In fact, the player with the best plus-minus rating in the third quarter was John Henson, who was a -7 in just over four minutes.

In the Bucks’ previous victories, Antetokounmpo and Monroe were able to pick up the load when Middleton struggled. That was not the case on Wednesday evening. While Monroe tallied six points, Antetokounmpo went over nine minutes without a single point. His woes kept him on the bench for the majority of the final period.

Denver outscored Milwaukee 34-16 in the quarter and took an 87-80 lead into the final quarter. It was far from over at the Pepsi Center.
