In dramatic fashion, the Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night, even after their best offensive first half of the season.

Early on, every Buck had the hot hand. Greivis Vasquez, who has been in a season-long shooting slump, made a trio of three-pointers and Giannis Antetokounmpo got off to a fast start as well.

Heading into the locker room at halftime, the Bucks were confident, making 28-of-40 shots (70 percent) and had an 11-point lead. However, a lackadaisical third quarter resulted in a deficit that Milwaukee could not overcome in the final period.

The now 4-5 Bucks would have benefited from a victory with their first tough stretch looming. They will travel back to Milwaukee to host LeBron James‘ Cleveland Cavaliers before starting a three-game road trip that features the Washington Wizards, Cavs and Indiana Pacers.

Here’s how the Bucks were so effective, and then so dreadful, in the loss.
