Tough Losses A Reminder Of The Past

Although the Magic have hung around in their two losses to date, ultimately their record still reads 0-2. Now while the circumstances are different, this team played competitively against an Eastern Conference top-four seed and an NBA Finals contender, the end product stings in that same familiar way.

This year was supposed to be different, the season when the Magic began to turn their fortunes around.

The opening few games of the schedule were always going to be tough (Their next four games are against teams who made the playoffs last season) and you don’t get points for trying harder and looking better as a team. So realistically this team could find itself in an 0-6 hole midway through November.

If that does happen, then we will really see what this team is about and if they’ve grown together as a unit. For now though, losing these close games feels all too familiar, except it’s even harder to take than getting blown out by a team that’s better than you. The chances have been there to win though and that’s encouraging.
