The Los Angeles Clippers have a surplus of talent surrounding point guard Chris Paul. Thus, it stands to reason that his scoring numbers will decline and his facilitating marks will increase exponentially.

Rather than focusing on his statistics, Paul has done what he does best through two games: dictate the pace.

Paul finished the season-opening victory over the Sacramento Kings with 18 points and 11 assists. It wasn’t his most efficient shooting performance, but CP3 came up with a victory-sealing jump shot late in the fourth quarter.

That clutch shot was a reflection of just how special this Clippers team could be.

Paul’s numbers weren’t very impressive against the Dallas Mavericks, but he played just 24 minutes. During that time, he distributed five assists to zero turnovers with a +/- of plus-15.

The numbers won’t always show it in 2015-16, but Paul is the Clippers’ floor general.
