The Key Statistic

Oladipo’s WAR (Wins Over Replacement) of 3.29 last season was poor. This calculates how many wins the player provides to his team over the average replacement player, and if Oladipo has ideas about having a breakout campaign, that number has to improve. It ranked 27th among all shooting guards, and below less illustrious names such as C.J. Miles (4.54) and Alan Anderson (3.61).

There is nothing wrong with either player mentioned or what they brought to their respective teams, but with some feeling Oladipo is an All-Star in waiting, he needs to have a more positive impact for his team. It starts with influencing that win column more with his performances.

This Magic team has not won more than 30 games since they drafted him, and while that ugly statistic is not all on his shoulders, if he wants to be seen as the man in Orlando, he needs to ensure they break through that barrier this season.
