The Chicago Bulls entered training camp in the same manner they did a year ago: full of hope and optimistic about their chances of competing for a championship. But the one change that has been widely discussed among the fan base is the hiring of Fred Hoiberg.

Under former coach Tom Thibodeau, the Bulls transformed into a hard-working, defensive-minded team that won a lot of games during the regular season. In fact, the team won 255 out of a possible 394 contests, which equates to a 65 percent winning percentage.

Unfortunately, that success did not carry over into the postseason, as the team compiled a 23-28 mark during Thibodeau’s five-year tenure, including an Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 2011.

But for better or worse, Thibodeau and his philosophies are a thing of the past and now it’s time to look ahead to the future. Having said that, here are a few noteworthy observations from training camp.
