Utah Jazz: 5 Things To Look For In The Preseason
Get More Assists
Trey Burke’s NBA career has been such a roller coaster. He was drafted to become the savior of the team and now he’s looked at as a borderline bust. Though he’s been labeled unfairly, his story is far from being finally written. What Utah needs to do is get used to Burke as their starting point guard.
On the court, Quin Snyder should try to instill some confidence in his third-year guard by running plays that will fit right in his wheelhouse. Burke’s great when he’s got the basketball in his hands because he can create off of the dribble as well as work well off of screen and roll. In addition, Utah should try and speed up the game with the ball in his hands. In the open court, Burke knows how to find people for easy points.
It’s also noteworthy to say that Utah’s backup point guard Raul Neto is a wizard with the assists. He’s from the Ricky Rubio “I don’t like to shoot because I can’t” mold, but also like Rubio, he can get dimes. Neto had six assists off of the bench against the Lakers.
