Pretty Ricky Maneuvering Quickly

A sight for sore eyes for all Timberwolves fans: Ricky Rubio moving swiftly on a basketball court.

Whether pressuring LaVine in shuffle drills, running the break in 3-on-2 fast break simulations, or speaking with the press during Media Day, Rubio seems to have regained his free-spirited yet highly competitive nature, to go along with his on-court nimbleness and clairvoyance.

Rubio, who had missed 60 games last season due to a bummed ankle, was seen wearing deuce ankle wraps during training camp, and the news out of Media Day concerning his less-than-100 percent health status worried many; but he by no means looked limited on the court, looking as quick and agile as ever.

Injuries have, for the most part, robbed Rubio of the excitement and unconventional impact he has on winning over the past few seasons. When he is on the floor, his selfless passing becomes infectious, and his incessant ball pressure creates havoc. However, a laundry list of maladies has limited him to just 202 games in four seasons.

Of course, there are also the lingering question marks in regards to his ability to make open jump shots and finish around the basket. If his recent workout is of any indication, however, where he made 89 of 100 set three-pointers, he may have remedied one of his weaknesses; all he needs now is a clean bill of health.
