The point guard position will be a focal point for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The team’s best player last season, Jordan Clarkson, should team with Russell in the backcourt, providing the Lakers with a potentially potent one-two punch of capable point guards in the starting lineup. Heck, the head coach was even a point guard, albeit briefly.

The Lakers have wanted to improve at the position for quite some time. Ramon Sessions, Steve Nash, and Jeremy Lin are all players they’ve tried, but with very limited success. Now, it’s clear that the future of the franchise is invested in producing a top flight player distributing the ball.

Depth will be a key factor for the Lakers as well. With the players previewed in this piece, the team hopes to be moving in a more comfortable direction.

As we look forward to training camp, the preseason, and the highly anticipated regular season, what should we expect from Lakers’ point guards?
