25. Paul Arizin

Paul Arizin was one of the greatest players of the 1950s. Efficiency wasn’t a part of the equation during that era, yet he still managed to comfortably shoot above 40 percent during eight of his 10 NBA seasons.

The key to Arizin’s game: his jump shot.

Arizin’s mid-range game was precise, enabling him to shoot over taller defenders and score with relative ease. The 3-point shot didn’t exist during his era, but that didn’t stop Arizin from consistently expanding his range.

Against any caliber of defender, he could get his shot off.

It’s always difficult to compare players from the 1950s to those of today. The style of play and body types were so tremendously different that any cross-generational comparison must be taken with a grain of salt.

Despite taking two years off from the NBA for military service, however, Arizin carved out a legacy as an all-time shooter.
