A number of players on the Lakers roster will be looking to lock into guaranteed spots on the squad. Ryan Kelly, Robert Sacre, Tarik Black and Jabari Brown will be evaluated closely in camp. The team has also given camp invites to Jonathan Holmes and Michael Frazier, two players who could ultimately be relegated to their D-League affiliate.

Black and Brown have the advantage of being on last year’s roster, as well as Kelly and Sacre. With a number of new players added to their front and backcourt, this puts all mentioned players in danger. Even the aforementioned players from last year’s team face the cut.

The Lakers can take 20 players into preseason, but the cut must meet the league’s requirement of 15 by the start of the year. Opening night could either bring familiar faces or new blood.  The last few roster spots will be the most coveted in a while for the Lakers.
