We’re just a few weeks from the start of NBA basketball, and for the Los Angeles Lakers, training camp starts on Sept. 29. The team will take their talents to Hawaii in preparation for what would be the beginning of the team’s resurgence. With a roster mixed with veterans and young talent, head coachByron Scott will have his hands full establishing the team’s identity.

Are the Lakers going to run and gun with younger legs? Will the defense see improvement after adding Roy Hibbert? How will Kobe Bryant respond in possibly his last year? This is the set of new stories surrounding the franchise.

Last year was a roster by committee as Kobe Bryant went down, but this season, the team finally has players that are primed to remain on their roster for many years going forward. The franchise was able to respectfully gather some key pieces in free agency and the draft. While they’re far away from championship contention, the team seems to be nowhere near the sideshow of the last two seasons.

With a revamped roster, exciting young prospects, and plenty of players on trips of redemption, this Lakers team will be a sight to behold. Once the team’s first preseason game arrives on Oct. 4, it will hopefully bring some answers to questions and observations of the team’s roster.
