Is John Wall Ready To Take On Elite Status?
Conclusion
The two-time All-Star will look to make it three in a row this upcoming season. With the acquisitions of sharpshooting veterans Jared Dudley, Gary Neal and Alan Anderson, along with the core of last year’s team returning, Wall should have an even better season than his 17.6 points and 10 assists per game season last year.
It’s likely that he and Chris Paul will once again be at the top of the assists category when it’s all said and done. Like it was stated in the beginning of the article, Paul has been regarded as the best point guard of this generation. Some even argue he may be one of the best to ever step on the basketball court. The fact that Wall is competing with such greatness speaks for his own skills and abilities.
He’s just 25 years old, which means he could have another 3-5 years in which he is in the top of his position. He’s taking on a bigger role this season and will be looked at as the leader with Paul Pierce out of the picture, so it will be interesting to see when he proves all the critics wrong whether or not they will finally give him credit and label him as the next elite point guard in the NBA.
