Tune out the critics and play at the highest level. For the past two seasons, many questioned whether the Philadelphia 76ers would bottom out and be among some of the worst teams in NBA history. Countless accusations of tanking and losing by design overshadowed the organization’s ability to fight out of becoming the NBA’s worst team the past two seasons.

Last year, at this time, Philadelphia possessed a youthful duo in Michael Carter-Williams and Nerlens Noel as optimism of a more exciting season than the 2013-14 slate was on the horizon. One year later, Carter-Williams is leading the high-octane contingent of budding stars in Milwaukee. In his place, a more hulking, offensively technical beast teams with Noel in the frontcourt.

He might not singlehandedly revolutionize the Sixers into a legitimate Eastern Conference playoff contender, but Jahlil Okafor has been tabbed as an impact rookie who’ll seamlessly translate to the next level.

He’s what Brett Brown has been clamoring for; an NBA-ready, high draft pick who’ll cultivate wins. There’s plenty of other focuses and storylines on the roster as well that will play out through another year of rebuilding.
