Jared Sullinger is remarkably inefficient, but he’s also a player being forced to reinvent his game. A bruising low-post player who can overwhelm opponents from the low block, injuries and system changes require him to diversify his game.

Known for his bruising style of play, Sullinger has become increasingly more intriguing as a finesse player.

Sullinger has developed a legitimate stroke from beyond the arc and is a gifted passer. He’s still inefficient, but these are the growing pains Boston has proven accepting of.

If he ever gets it right—and he began to during the 2015 NBA Playoffs—Sullinger could be a star.

During the 2015 NBA Playoffs, Sullinger shot 55.3 percent from the field. Sullinger’s most recent postseason game, the decisive Game 4 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, saw him post 21 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes.

It was a game that embodied everything that makes Sullinger who he is: productive, full of potential and limited by the constant rust of battling and returning from injuries.
