Quick Thoughts
Last season, the Bucks had a great mix of youth and veteran experience in their frontcourt. After losing Jared Dudley, Ersan Ilyasova and Zaza Pachulia this summer, that balance is a little more skewed toward the youth. Though none of those players was essential to what Milwaukee accomplished last year, their absence will put more pressure on the more inexperienced players.
Fortunately for the Bucks, that’s kind of the point of having so many young players with a lot of upside. Milwaukee added Monroe this summer, who will automatically become the team’s best offensive player that can operate from the elbows or from down low. A full season under Kidd should be a major benefit to MCW and there’s a chance this is the year the Greek Freak breaks out.
Rookie Rashad Vaughn might struggle to crack the rotation in his first season, but Milwaukee will certainly enjoy the return of Jabari Parker, who was on pace for the Rookie of the Year Award before tearing his ACL in December. With Khris Middleton re-signed to a five-year, $70 million deal, the time is now for these young Bucks to take the next step together.
