Boston Celtics: Is Every Player Up For Grabs?
The Boston Celtics currently have 16 players on their roster, and the roster needs to be cut to 15 players for next season. General manager Danny Ainge has not made many comments in regards to who will make the 15-man roster next season, but almost everyone could foresee a trade coming before the season starts because Ainge is not afraid to make some noise with trades.
The one big question remains: is there anyone on the Celtics that Ainge would not give up?

Realistically, there has to be one or two players that Ainge and head coach Brad Stevens would like to keep on the roster no matter what, but many of the players on the team could be traded at any moment.

The team is compiled of many above-average role players that have a few special skill-sets. Almost every player on the current roster right now could be traded because the Celtics are still looking for a star player or a very high first round draft pick, especially since Boston will probably not get a high lottery pick next season.
Marcus Smart and David Lee are two very intriguing trade candidates and they are both up for grabs, and Ainge made it clear that Smart was up for grabs around the NBA draft. Players like Avery Bradley, Amir Johnson, and Jae Crowder are probably the least likely trade candidates because they are well liked and because their value really is not too good for what the Celtics would want.
The Celtics are willing to give up almost any of their players for a star player, but the team does not have many players that can attract a team to make a trade.
So what can the Celtics offer?
The Celtics do not have any star players on their team, but the team does have a bunch of guys who can help out multiple teams. If a team needs a defensive specialist at the 2-guard or small forward, Bradley or Crowder could be your guy.
If a team needs a defensive point guard, rookie Terry Rozier or Smart could be your guy. Those are just a couple examples of how many Celtics’ players can help out other teams around the league.
The Celtics also have a lot of froncourt players to offer, which is why almost every player on the roster is up for grabs. Rookies R.J. Hunter, Rozier, and Jordan Mickey are also up for grabs, and they might have a lot of trade value because they have not played a game in the NBA yet, but they did impress during NBA Summer League. Hunter probably has the most value because the NBA is heading towards an era where the three-point shot is the most important thing on the offensive end.
The bottom-line is quite simple: almost every player on the Celtics is up for grabs and Ainge is not going to be afraid to pull the trigger on any trade. He is not afraid to make any move, and there are many players on the roster that can attract teams around the NBA. Nobody on the Boston Celtics is untouchable.
