2. Rudy Gobert

You have to look moderately far down the list until you see Rudy Gobert’s name appearing on the best centers in the league list. In no particular order, it goes DeAndre Jordan, Andre Drummond, DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Nikola Vucevic and Hassan Whiteside, then Gobert. Next season, Gobert could make the bounce from being a top 10 center into a top three center.

It’s all going to change because of the number of minutes that he’s going to play. Last season, Gobert put on an exhibition and was one of the prominent reasons why Utah finished with such an improbable record after the All-Star break.

Now that he’s going to play on the floor for an entire 82-game season, he should be one of the frontrunners to win the Defensive Player of the Year award. Utah might have found the next Mark Eaton in Gobert.
