They might not be playing on the illustrious Christmas Day or have a nationally televised game this season, but there’s sure to be intrigue for another Philadelphia 76ers season on the horizon.

The Sixers schedule was revealed yesterday on NBA TV along with the other 29 teams in the league, with the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey giving nuggets of information before the official release.

Traveling to Boston for their opener, Philadelphia will face a division rival from the start on Oct. 28 and play the Utah Jazz two days later. Glossing over the 82 games throughout the season, the Sixers face a daunting late November stretch of six straight road games. Three of them are against playoff teams from last season.

The start of December pits the No. 2 pick D’Angelo Russell against Jahlil Okafor for a possible bout for bragging rights. Okafor also gets his first shot at draft classmate Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves in November while Philadelphia hosts Minnesota to start a six-game stretch at home in January.

Fans will have to listen to Marc Zumoff’s new counterpart at color commentator as Malik Rose reportedly took a front office job with the Atlanta Hawks per Yahoo Sports’ Marc Spears:

Rose and Zumoff brought life to Sixers action the past four seasons and showed exuberance from the start of their time together on-air despite the recent lacking on-court product. Whoever the organization decides to add gets the ability to call the reigning Eastern Conference champs twice in the first five games of the season for the Sixers.

Cleveland and many other star-laded teams play Philadelphia twice or more throughout the season, but adding Okafor and Stauskas gives the Sixers a greater chance than what they featured last season. If they can pull off a victory within the first couple of weeks, they’ll be doing better than last year.

With head coach Brett Brown once again leading at the helm and general manager Sam Hinkie making moves, expect another compelling and crazy season for the Philadelphia 76ers. Together we build, one season at a time.
