Players Stay Out of Trouble

It’s been said that an idle mind (hand) is the devil’s workshop (playground).

It’s not a surprise that athletes get in trouble, they’re normal human beings like the rest of us. It’s not a surprise either that when the season is over there is a lot of time on each players’ hands to do what they feel like. Sometimes though, having too much time in the offseason isn’t a good thing because players sometimes find themselves in bad situations that they don’t need to get involved in.

Playing in international competition is a good practice for players because their time gets occupied by doing something they love doing: playing basketball. Since players are playing basketball in the offseason, management won’t have to worry about their players getting in trouble and making bad headlines. There’s a bit of security since owners will know that their players are going to do something productive in the offseason.
