Netting Neto

A second round selection in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, Raul Neto is another former draft-and-stash player who has yet to play his first NBA game. After signing Neto to a multiyear contract, that will finally happen in Utah next season.

Neto is a 6’1″ point guard who spent the last year playing for UCAM Murcia in Spain, averaging 8.9 points and 3.9 assists in 22.4 minutes per game. He’s not a great shooter, knocking down 42.8 percent of his shots and only 20.5 percent of his 2.1 three-point attempts per game.

Between Exum, Trey Burke, Bryce Cotton and Neto, the Jazz have four point guards on the roster, and that’s without even bringing Olivier Hanlan aboard. Adding the 23-year-old Brazilian isn’t a bad move by any means, but he might wind up spending most of his time in the D-League next season.
