NCAA Basketball’s Best No. 1 Recruits Since 2005
4. Jahlil Okafor — Duke
Flanked by 2015 NBA Draft first-round draft picks Justise Winslow and Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor went on to have one of the more dominant seasons in college basketball last year, as he and the Duke Blue Devils won the school’s fifth national title.
Okafor was a force all season long for Duke, averaging 17.3 points per game on 66.4 percent shooting(!), while grabbing 8.5 rebounds per contest for the Blue Devils. Not only was Okafor a First Team All-American, he was named the Freshman of the Year by the USWBA, and won the ACC Player of the Year Award.
Plays like these were common for Okafor last year. Despite not being the top pick this past June in the draft, Okafor was still a top-3 pick, and the possible Okafor/Nerlens Noel/Joel Embiid front line for the Philadelphia 76ers in the future is just downright frightening.
