NCAA Basketball’s Best No. 1 Recruits Since 2005
5. Andrew Wiggins — Kansas
“The Next LeBron James” they called him.
Andrew Wiggins could have scored 20 points in every one of the 35 appearances he made for the Kansas Jayhawks in the 2013-14 season, and he still wouldn’t have met the expectations many had put forth for the Toronto, Ontario native.
Sure, Wiggins and the Jayhawks were bounced from the NCAA Tournament in the Round of 32, but not before “Maple Jordan” gave the college basketball world glimpses of his potential.
During his one season with Kansas, Wiggins won the Big XII Player of the Year Award, made the All-Big XII First Team and was selected as a Consensus Second-Team All-American, while averaging 17.1 points per game on 45 percent shooting.
