After months of anticipation and speculation, the NBA universe finally received its first look at the new crop of rookies at the 2015 NBA Summer League.

While summer play always has its fair share of flukes, it usually gives at least a little bit of insight on how the rookies will perform in their rookie year, especially if they are given a similar amount of playing time.

It’s extremely early in the NBA calendar, and a lot can happen to change each rookie’s outlook before the season even begins. Yet, Summer League plays is fresh on the mind, so why not analyze it?

The following standings are driven by each rookie’s performance at the NBA Summer League, but also take into account the rookie’s past performances in college or overseas, current team outlook and potential playing time. Thus, there are a number of rookies who shined in Las Vegas, but won’t make this list because they’re set to be buried on their team’s depth chart.

Now, with the NBA Summer League in the books, here’s the “way too early” NBA Rookie of the Year standings.
