Milwaukee Bucks: Grading The Offseason
Signing Chris Copeland
For those still worried about Milwaukee trading away three-point shooting in the Jared Dudley deal, Chris Copeland may be able to help with that. Last season, he failed to crack the Indiana Pacers’ rotation like many thought he might, shooting a miserable 36.1 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from three-point range.
However, in his two prior seasons, Copeland shot 42.1 percent and 41.8 percent from three-point range in with the Knicks. He won’t be a major part of the rotation in Milwaukee, but signing him to a one-year, $1.1 million deal is a nice way to add some extra depth and perimeter shooting to the edge of the roster.
At age 31, Copeland will really have to prove himself during this one-year trial with the Bucks. But at the very least, he’ll round out the end of the roster and he could benefit from his time in New York when he played alongside head coach Jason Kidd.
