Minnesota Timberwolves: Rookies’ Fit, Futures

Summer League action is in full swing with Orlando and Salt Lake City regions currently in action and Vegas (baby!) coming up this weekend. This is the first chance to see the 2015 NBA rookie class in action. It’s also the first chance we get to examine them as players rather than names on a piece of paper.

One of the most intriguing teams in Vegas, and in the foreseeable future, is the Minnesota Timberwolves, who now have the past three No. 1 overall selections on their roster in Anthony Bennett (2013), reigning Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins (2014) and Karl-Anthony Towns (2015).

Bennett may not be part of the future plans for Minnesota, but Wiggins certainly is and he now has his big-man counterpart in Towns.

Towns is entering his rookie year alongside Tyus Jones and now reigning Euroleague MVP Nemanja Bjelica. How will these incoming rookies fit during the 2015-16 NBA season and what could the future hold for them beyond this season? A look at all three individually, as a unit and as part of the bigger picture.
