Goran Dragic, Heat agree to 5-year deal
The Miami Heat kept their point guard, according to reports, as Goran Dragic has agreed to a five-year, $90 million contract to remain on South Beach.
Dragic, acquired at the trade deadline in February from the Phoenix Suns, opted out of the final year of his contract that would have paid him $7.5 million next season.
The NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2013-14, Dragic averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in 26 games with Miami after the trade.
Drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the second round in 2008, the native of Slovenia was dealt to the Suns after the draft and played in Phoenix until he was swapped to the Houston Rockets at the deadline in February 2011.
He returned to Phoenix as a free agent in July 2012.
