22. Paul Pierce, UFA

UPDATE: Paul Pierce has agreed to a three-year, $10.6 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.

If a team signs Paul Pierce, they won’t be expecting a player who can average 20 points a night. In fact, most teams would be happy with a pedestrian 10 per game from the future Hall of Famer.

As Pierce proved throughout the 2015 NBA Playoffs, his value is based on one word: clutch.

Pierce, a respected leader and revered scorer, was nothing short of remarkable in clutch scenarios for the Washington Wizards in 2014-15. That type of value is immense, and it’s why he’d be a key asset to any contender.

Even at 37 years old, Pierce’s late-game heroics make him a sought after free agent.
