2. Christian Wood

I’m not as high on Christian Wood’s potential as most, but even I have to admit the Warriors can afford to take a risk with an upside pick at No. 30. If Wood is still available, he’d have a chance to silence those who have doubts about his work ethic in a great place to learn the game.

At 19 years old, Wood would have time to develop properly for a team that doesn’t need him to contribute right away. A 6’11” power forward from UNLV, Wood is an incredibly long big man with a 9’4″ standing reach and a 7’3″ wingspan. He averaged 15.7 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game last season for the Runnin’ Rebels, showcasing his rebounding and shot-blocking ability in the process.

With the right development, Wood could blossom into a stretch-4 with three-point range. He only made 28.4 percent of his threes last season, and the fact that he was still taking 2.7 of them per game is a testament to his slightly poor shot selection. But if he can get stronger and expand his range, he’d be a great upside option at No. 30.
