4. Jonathan Holmes

More so than most other teams, the Warriors can afford to take fliers on upside picks at the end of the first round. A versatile 6’9″ power forward from Texas, Jonathan Holmes has the potential to become a stretch-4 who might even be able to spread the floor with a three-point shot (33.1 percent last season on 4.1 attempts per game).

Of course, that aspect of his game will need to be improved and expanded to the NBA three-point line, but Holmes does just enough of everything to make him a good theoretical fit on a team that’s renowned for its versatility.

Holmes is a decent rebounder, shot blocker and he plays with a lot of energy, which is all the Dubs would need from him in spot minutes. In the event of David Lee’s departure, Holmes is the kind of smart player who would thrive playing in such a good basketball environment, and he could slot right into Lee’s garbage time minutes as a rookie as well.
